About

I thought it’s best I introduce myself, my full name is Rhiannon but the nickname ‘Nanw’ has been with me since I was small. I’m 24 and located in Lampeter. I have always enjoyed designing and making things by hand, it’s like therapy to me!

I studied textiles as a degree and specialised in knitted fabric, on an industrial knitting machine. I like using natural fibres in my work including lambswool which creates a lovely soft felted fabric when washed. Using traditional techniques with a modern twist, I try to be innovative with my designs with having a versatile approach to make the products even more sustainable for future purposes. Every piece is handmade by me from the comfort of my home studio, gaining inspiration from my surroundings in West Wales from the seasonal changes in landscapes and repetitive sequences in nature. I’m also highly inspired by the simplistic aesthetic of scandi decor that gives a sense of comfort and calming feeling to their surroundings with a minimal colour palette.

Having little to no waste is important to me in production. I re-use the yarn scraps or cut knitted fabric as stuffing in my work and make them into a new products such as unique handmade cards. I ensure my products aren’t mass produced with having minimal stock available.

These are products that are aimed to last a lifetime, which can be loved in years to come. No matter the trend these pieces will be a staple in your home with simple pop of colours not being too over powering in any space.
